The closest airports to the wedding ceremony will be GSP and AVL.

Asheville Regional Airport (AVL)

Getting around

Renting a car is recommended. The venues are quite remote and finding an Uber/taxi is unlikely.

Where to stay

Guests of the wedding will have the ability to stay in a cabin at the reception venue but we have limited cabins, so you would be sharing with other guests (we would only put you with people you know).

For those that want their own space, the best options are Best Western and Hampton Inn in Travelers Rest (~20 min drive).

Cabin info

Cabins at Sakanaga are fairly basic with 1 queen bed and 4 single bunks. Each have their own full bathroom.

Hotel info

Best Western - 110 Hawkins Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690

Hampton Inn - 593 Roe Center Ct, Travelers Rest, SC 29690

Things to do

If you choose to attend both the wedding and reception, there will be some down-time between. Here are some of our favorite spots to explore.

Hiking & Nature

  • Jones Gap Falls - 3 mile out and back

  • Caesars Head Overlook - Pull in view

  • Table Rock - 7.5 mile strenuous-ish hike

Asheville

  • New Belgium Brewery - Great outdoor area with views of the French Broad River.  Usually has several food trucks for food options.

  • Coxe Street - A walk down Coxe Street (staring around Asheville Brewing)  will give a good taste of what Asheville has to offer.  Stroll through and find a brewery or eatery that catches your eye.

  • Sierra Nevada Brewing - Our go to stop to break up long car rides when we are just passing through. The entire brewing production is viewable to the public from the upper hallways and the food is also wonderful.

Greenville

  • Falls Park - The central park in Greenville featuring the only curved suspension bridge in the United States. Plenty of nearby food options and lots of scenic park benches

  • Greenville Zoo - Come and see the Giraffes!  While on the smaller side, the Greenville zoo is worth a stop for the animal lovers

  • Lewis BBQ - Have a taste of some real southern BBQ. Grab some brisket half fat half lean and thank us later.
